Brokerswood Holiday Park - Lake

A 5 acre lake just a short walk from the camping area, mainly carp fishing with some silver fish.

The leisure park run canoeing sessions on the lake mid morning and early afternoon so you are best to fish either early morning or late afternoon.

When I arrived (June 2015) I took a walk around the lake and watched some people feeding the ducks with numerous carp swimming between the ducks mopping up the bread. The lake has a limited number of fish able swims given its size however from what I could gather there are few people fishing it and it is limited to campers only - which is great as the fish will be less wary and should be easier to catch.

The fishing was £5 at the gatehouse and you will need you EA rod licence as they will take your number. I fished for a few hours in the evening taking 7 carp to 12lb and the following afternoon taking 14 carp to 10lb.

Surface fishing with bread worked well, as did bottom fishing with boilies, it was great sport and the carp were hard fighting healthy fish. There is very limited information about the fishing, Roach were present but unsure what else as nobody knew!
