Adgestone (C&CCS) - River Yar

A small section of the River Yar runs alongside the campsite. During our visit it was the closed season for Rivers therefore we did not actually fish.

The River is about 3m wide and varies in depth from 0.5 to 1.5m in depth along the section with lots of overhanging trees and weed beds throughout the river. There are deep slow sections and fast shallow sections offering a good variety of pegs to choose from. The nearside bank is however used as part of the dog walk and with its high bank this could cause issues during clear/bright conditions.

I witnessed a number of Carp meandering along the length as well as several small trout and dace taking fly's off the surface.

A mobile/roving approach would work well using bread, worm or luncheon meat on the hook using either float or ledgering tactics.
