Belmont Camping - Lake (1)

There are lots of lakes around the site but only one is fishable on a day ticket to campers. It is a small pond of about 1/3 acre with only enough fishing for 4-5 anglers at a push. Half of the lake is not accessible due to overhanging trees and the remainder is filled with lillies and weed.

 

There is a good head of carp in the lake but due to the weed i would advise a minimum of 8lb line otherwise you will just get broke off in the weed.

Floating dog biscuits and bread worked well, we fished during October 2017 and as you can see all 3 children had a fish each, I manged 4, all on Bread and my Dad had 2 on pellets.

 

So all in all some good sport to be had and ideal to get kids into carp fishing.
